We practice “Interdependent Leadership”. God gives the gift of leadership to the church and calls a plurality of leaders with complimentary abilities and functions to serve Him collectively and primarily to equip, empower and release all of God’s people (Ephesians 4:11-12), the church, and their gifts, for the glory of God, his mission of redemption and the work of ministry. The primary metaphor to describe the New Testament Church is the “body” comprised of individual members serving as differing parts (I Corinthians 12:8-27) with Jesus Christ as the only appointed “Head” of His “body”. We see the model of leadership established in the very nature of the Trinity; (1 Corinthians 12:4-7) three distinct persons (Father, Son & Holy Spirit) with three distinct roles, acting in complete interdependence with one another. Interdependent Leadership is grounded biblically in God’s design for His body and modeled God’s nature, but it also emphasizes the “heart” God desires for His leadership - humble service for the sake of others (Mathew 20:20-28, Philippians 2:5-8). Each leader mutually submits to and empowers the others to lead where they are most gifted. This provides a high level of accountability, cultivates humility & trust, and gives confidence to the church to know the leaders make decisions collecitvely. We believe Interdependent leaders, cooperatively leading out God’s mission for His Church, can more completely disciple & mobilize and the church to carry out its destiny in the world.
We lead cooperatiavely, under Jesus' authority and headship, each having a variety of complimentary functions and gifts, for the glory of God and the benefit of others.
